Tasmanian Government’s Energy Saver Loan Scheme with Brighte
The Tasmanian State Government has announced an Energy Saver Loan Scheme, through financers Brighte. Up to $10,000 will be available through an interest-free loan, able to offset upfront costs for energy efficient home investments. Due to commence mid-October, 2022.

About The Scheme
Proposed 0% interest loans of up to $10,000 for residential households, landlords of residential properties, small businesses and not-for-profit organisations, to help access a range of energy efficient products.
Key points:
0% interest loans between $500 and $10,000
No establishment or account-keeping fees
Payment terms of 1-3 years
Loans are capped at $10,000 per property, accessing the scheme for your primary residence won’t prevent you getting a separate loan for your small business
Finer details:
Applicants may purchase energy efficiency products valued at more than $10,000. The applicant will be required to settle the amount not covered by the Interest-Free Loan Scheme. Brighte offer further finance with their standard green loan terms.
Approved finance amounts are subject to personal eligibility criteria’s
Installations must be carried out by Brighte Authorised Installation Partners
Household Eligibility Criteria
A household can access the loan across multiple products up to the cap of $10,000. For example, you can choose to use $8,000 for solar, and the remainder towards a heat pump.
Approved products must be installed in a residential property which:
Is geographically located within Tasmania
Is either a standalone residence or a unit titled property. In the case of a unit titled property, the applicant must have all necessary approvals to install the approved product, which may include approvals from the owners’ corporation
Is owned or leased by the applicant (regardless of whether it is subject to a mortgage)
Individual Eligibility Criteria
Be a permanent resident of Australia
Be 18 years of age or over
Have a credit score acceptable to the loan provider and clear credit file
Have a bank account or credit card in applicant’s name
Have a demonstrated capacity to repay
Have a demonstrated income verification
Provide suitable identification
Your Process From Here
Once this Tasmanian Government has launched the TAS Energy Saver Loan Scheme (ESLS), it will be available through finance company Brighte.
All eligible works must be done through an Authorised Installation Partner, to start the registration process you must obtain a current quote for an approved eligible product/s, which you can obtain through Whitney Electrical & Solar.
Once you have accepted a quote, your preferred Authorised Installation Partner will then refer you to Brighte to assess your application and creditworthiness on your behalf.
